Provincial Nominee Program

Provincial streams matched to your profile and goals

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) let Canadian provinces and territories nominate people for permanent residence based on local labour-market needs. For many applicants — especially those whose Express Entry score sits just below the cut-off — a nomination is the single most powerful route to PR.

Two ways a nomination works

Enhanced (Express Entry-aligned)
A nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score — in practice, a guaranteed invitation to apply for permanent residence.
Base (non-Express Entry)
You apply to the province directly and, once nominated, apply to IRCC for PR on paper.

Common pathways

Most streams are built around one of the following:

In-demand occupations
Provinces publish target occupation lists that change over time.
A valid job offer
From an employer located in the province.
Local experience
Work or study already completed in that province.
Entrepreneur / business
For those investing in and operating a provincial business.

The major programs

Ontario (OINP), British Columbia (BC PNP), Alberta (AAIP), Saskatchewan (SINP) and the Atlantic provinces each run distinct streams with their own eligibility rules, intake windows and scoring grids.

How Vik Immigration helps
PNP streams open and close on short notice, cap intake, and reject applications for missing a single criterion. We match your profile to the provinces and streams where you actually stand a strong chance, track timing, and prepare the nomination and PR application so the two stages line up.
